Raków Częstochowa – Lech Poznań 3:1

Maciej Skorża’s return to Lech Poznań wasn’t a successful one. In his first official match after a 6-year break, the Polish coach was forced to accept a 1:3 loss against Raków Częstochowa in an away league game.

Unfortunately, history likes to repeat itself and similarly to 2014 when Maciej Skorża took over Lech’s team, this time the side from Poznań also lost a league clash. Back then, Lech faced Jagiellonia Białystok and was beaten by one goal. This time, it was Raków Częstochowa that turned out better than the team from Poznań. By the time the first half ended, Lech was already down by two goals, both scored by Raków following set pieces. Fran Tudor and Kamil Piątkowski got their name on the goalscorers’ sheet.

At halftime, coach Skorża made three substitutions and changed the formation which resulted in a quick goal from Mikael Ishak. Unfortunately, that was it from the team from Poznań as they failed to find the back of the net again. Meanwhile, the hosts got a third goal in – this time it was Marcin Cebula who beat Mickey van der Hart with a beautiful scissor kick.

On Tuesday (April 20th, 8:30 pm), Lech will have an opportunity to make it up to their fans as they face Lechia Gdańsk in a home league game.
